MinuteMD Can Help You Reach Your Weight Loss Goals!

Let’s face it – sometimes reaching your goals is difficult on your own and you just need a little help. Our team of physicians and skilled staff is here to help you obtain your goals! Our new weight loss protocol includes a prescription drug called semaglutide to help you get there! Our semaglutide is specifically compounded for you.

Semaglutide injection (available in either 1.0 mg or 2.4 mg once weekly) may be prescribed for support in chronic weight management in adults with obesity or overweight with at least one weight-related condition (such as high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, or high cholesterol), for use in addition to a reduced calorie diet and increased physical activity. This is an under-the-skin injection.

Since I started taking semaglutide, I feel less hungry, I get full faster and more importantly - I've lost weight! Excited for the future!

Semaglutide – Mechanism of Action

Semaglutide is a synthetic glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist that belongs to a class of drugs called incretin mimetics.  Incretins are a type of hormone that stimulate a decrease in blood glucose levels, such as GLP-1 that binds to and activates the GLP-1 receptor.  GLP-1 works to regulate ones appetite and caloric intake, and the GLP-1 receptor is present in several areas of your body, including areas in your brain responsible for appetite regulation.  Semaglutide, as an agonist, binds to the GLP-1 receptor and works to lower blood glucose by stimulating insulin secretion and to inhibit glucagon release.

Semaglutide – Adverse Reactions

Semaglutide is associated with GI adverse reactions, including nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, constipation, abdominal pain, dyspepsia, abdominal distention, eructation, flatulence, gastroenteritis, and gastroesophageal reflux disease.  It has also been associated with causing headache, fatigue, dizziness, and hypoglycemia in patients with type 2 diabetes.  Please discuss with your physician the contraindications and other warning and precautions before starting Semaglutide.
